If you have a d100 die, great! If not, here's a page to use for rolling that die.
Good luck, adventurers!

(26,614 posts)blurry two-word thing that needs glasses! (Does it say "red mage"? Is that a bad-ass thing to be?)

I just rolled a 73: Techno-mancer! Now we can play Traveler

(29,414 posts)are for "urban adventuring." People that would spend their whole lives in cities, doing research (such as with an Arcanist or Channeler) while others would go more for the intrigue methods, such as a Diplomat, Spy, Stalker, Philanderer, and Poisoner.
Imagine an adventure that takes place in a setting where you don't expect danger around every dungeon corner, yet is just as dangerous in an insidious way

(36,649 posts)What the hell is a trapmaster?
Can't I just be the race car, like always?
kentauros
(29,414 posts)or someone who makes traps, including the kind to trap adventurers
Chan790
(20,176 posts)passive fighter, low defense, inflicts massive amounts of damage with a variety of traps and mines, usually high agility allowing them to kite enemies into those traps.
Basically, you plant traps that will kill your enemies, then you razz them until they chase you into the trap and die. But you suck in actual combat.

(29,414 posts)But would think a Shadowmancer could be pretty cool. Kill with shadows, use them like portals, hide a whole party in daylight, so long as there's something to cast a shadow (otherwise a big shadow on open ground would be conspicuous)

kentauros
(29,414 posts)and there's a "Battle Priest" and Shaman in there, too

(4,261 posts)I still think Cleric should be a major axis.
kentauros
(29,414 posts)I wouldn't equate a cleric with a mage. Two different fields, even if both use a power of some sort. I guess that's how the maker of this triangle thought of them. So, make it a square or a diamond with mage and cleric at opposite points and rogue and fighter on opposite points, too. That would be a better blending.
Now I was wondering earlier if a cleric can still successfully heal an atheist adventurer (not the person playing, but their character.) Because now you've got disbelief and belief fighting against each other. Does the non-believer have to make a dis-believe roll on whether they get healed or not?

(2,328 posts)My favorite ad&d character I played was a dual wield 'swashbuckler rogue'. Cyric Swiftsabre. Good times.

(29,414 posts)But the last time I did was in some other system where I got to play a centaur-fighter, and she was married to my other character, a shape-shifting Arabic druid. Fun times!

(29,414 posts)Roll a couple of d20s and add them up. That way, you'll remain clear of most choices for Mage and Rogue. Anything that's a desk-job (like Strategist) just ignore and roll again. Double-aughts can be either a forty (Ninja), or 00 which is Warrior. Either one is a winner!
