All speakers had a very positive message for the grads about acceptance, diversity, helping others whenever possible, fighting hate, racism, gender bias, different-ability bias, wherever they go. Their "charge" was to spread those values and go out and change the world. Our previous Gov. Markell was the main speaker, but the message was carried through by all speakers.
They had a video where previous alumni spoke about what Udel meant to them. Most on the video were welcomed warmly with applause - Biden got the most applause, of course, Joe Flacco did too. It was great to hear ~25K people applaud a video of our previous VP! It was equally gratifying to hear a collective groan go across the stadium when Chris Christie came on screen. Also, Steve Schmidt didn't receive quite as warm a reaction as David Plouffe. Thought that was interesting as well.
Kinda cool. Just wanted to share.
