The fight for an eight hour work day was one of the most difficult and important efforts of the US labor movement.

Slogans such as “Eight hours for work, eight hours for sleep, eight hours for what we will!” became the rallying cry of working people.

the bosses wouldn't lose one second of sleep killing us. That's what they did. That's what they do where there are no protections. That's what they fight to get rid of!

All these laws, rules, regulations and red tape people complain about are the protections that keep us alive.
