(10,726 posts)1. So many great offerings today-
including 3 of my favorites:
Funny Girl, where Omar Sharif continues to make my heart swoon, not to mention Barbra Streisand's terrific vocals
Marty, such a sweet and tender love story
and
Life with Father, where the Technicolor alone gives one pause. such beautiful coloration throughout the movie. Maybe it's because everyone had red hair in this movie! fun trivia about the red hair:
from imdb:
Before filming began, the cast was taken to Perc Westmore's salon on a Sunday morning to have their hair dyed red. When it was time to rinse the dye, the beauticians discovered that the water had been turned off for the entire block because the street was being repaired. Because dyes were so strong then, leaving them on could have caused the cast to lose their hair. Luckily, someone suggested diluting the dye with cold cream.
I think this is one of Liz Taylor's first performances as a teen actress.
