Along with the Ashton brothers, The Stooges were the tip of psychedelic grunge punk. That's quite a resume, but Iggy accidentally invented crowd surfing when he fell off the stage and Ron Ashton's indiscriminate use of wah wah pedal cemented them as mainstays in my heavy album collection of the day. I still play the discs in my car.

Got to see them once around '72 on a drug run to Ann Arbor as a teen.

...to be more than 9 & ½ years older than me.
I guess when I first started hearing about him when I was 14, I never guess he was 23.
Iggy was always ok by me because he was friends with Bowie.
