He did this for the last 2 years of his life.
And those sessions were as powerful as his Sun Records sessions were 50 years earlier.

(16,905 posts)Those final years were incredible and solidified his legendary status. The entire "American" series of albums are just outstanding & you're absolutely right in that, after June died, recording music was all he had left.
We seriously need to get some of you guys down here to Nashville. The Cash Museum is one of the best of its kind and our house is walking distance to the old Cash property.
