They were one of the best back in the day, their music smoked!!! Love Saturday Night Special - really good song. Oh yeah, just thought of another fave - Oh That Smell! Fine fucking music! They were draft dodgers and now wrap themselves in the flag - just disgusting what they became after Ronnie and Alan died.

Probably saw them at least 20 times back in the day, all around town in small to medium venues. I went to school with Dale for a short time, we were the smart kids in a self-paced school and raced to see who could complete the classes the fastest. She beat me by 30 min. - damn! She was quiet, but after awhile warmed up and would talk to me about singing with them. Anyway, sad to see how they have turned into rednecks, they were never that way when they were all dodging the Vietnam war. If Ronnie and Alan had lived, I don't think they would have morphed this way, but that could just be my wishful thinking.

I saw them 10 years ago, the music was still great but man, some of the other concertgoers were carrying rebel flags and getting really drunk. Won't go see them ever again, although they are the band of my youth and I still love some of their songs - I Know a Little Bit is my all time fave and of course there is the rock anthem - Free Bird.
