Not great, but still the best moon shot I've done in the dark of night.
On the way to dawn.
And that's all she wrote.
Didn't have any trouble staying up for this phenomenon. The wind machines started at 9:00 PM and went right through to 7:00 AM. I was standing outside when a third kicked in at 3:15 AM and I thought I was in the middle of a runway. I think I'm going to nap a lot today.

(45,851 posts)I'm on the East coast so no eclipse for me, got clouded out anyway so I'm kind of glad it wasn't visible from here or I'd have been frustrated.

(46,436 posts)I was using a 70-200 with one 2X teleconverter on my full-frame 1ds Mark III. It was pretty sharp, but I had to crop a fair amount. Is the D7000 full frame?

(36,827 posts)I don't normally recommend trying to stack 2 teleconverters with any lens, but in this case it worked.

(18,219 posts)At least it was gone early, so that is a good thing. That means that it is spring, even if it doesn't feel like it yet. Soon.

(20,886 posts)When I was shooting, my eye didn't pick up the red tint, but the camera did. I was surprised when I saw the image on the screen.
It was very red. I stopped down by two f-stops which seemed to really capture the color.
