Too many Easter bunnies end up being surrendered to animal rescues after they start to grow up, or worse yet are "released" into the wild to die. Good for you for making this a commitment for the life of the bunny!

We didn't get him for Easter. My daughter just wanted a bunny so we got one. He's a very tame bunny. We have a big cage for him that he loves. There's several platforms that he jumps around on. We take him out of his cage pretty much every day. You can put him up on the couch or the bed and he won't jump down. He just hops around including all over you. He loves nose rubs, yogurt treats, and being carried around the house so he gets to check everything out. We take him to the vet every 2-3 months to get his nails trimmed and all the employees go crazy over him, including the vets. I'm not sure how many more years he has in him, but we'll all miss him when he's gone.

He makes a bit of noise even in the middle of the night, so he can't be kept inside an occupied bedroom. His cage must be cleaned about twice per week. He likes to run around and toss his bedding material out of the cage. Since he has long hair, he must be brushed out about once per month, which he seems to like. So all-in-all he's sort of a pain in the ass to keep inside, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
