(90,801 posts)The bug could have lighted on fresh paint or maybe a flower that colored its back legs. The coloring is uneven, suggesting he landed in it, slipped a little, and took off again...maybe.
I think it looks like Ochlerotatus infirmatus.
Is there a white patch on the scutum?

It looks blue in the image.
