(149,831 posts)They were quick and wary!
These were some distance away so I got my lens all the way out (400mm) to get their photo! If I'd moved, they would have been gone in a flash.
Thanks so much for the link.

(5,041 posts)I'm not a great birder (not a morning person) but I've seen enough different types of sparrows that I said "hmm - those look like sparrows" at which point it was easy to find them.

(32,196 posts)I love looking at all that greenery and sunshine, since we have none! And I love the birds.

(149,831 posts)Today was really beautiful, unlike other recent gray dreary rainy days. I had to get out and take photos!
The birds were really cute, too. All over, looking for crumbs.

(12,165 posts)The birdeens made me laugh. I was imagining them as a man and woman in a bar. She: look at him. Thinks he's so special puffing out his chest and sucking in his belly. He: she's so impressed by my awesomeness she's having to look away.
Oh well it was funny to me.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,831 posts)Spot on, for sure!
Glad you enjoyed my photos.

(12,165 posts)I put my camera down when we entered the digital SLR age. It wasn't because of the new technology but rather because I began to feel left out of family and friends fun. I was the recorder and not the doer. A couple of years ago I gave my film outfit to my niece who is a real artist. She wanted to explore film.
I was in a health supplement shop last week and there was a digital SLR with an 85mm portrait lens belonging to the shop owner. It felt good to have a camera in my hands. Maybe to bug is going to bite me again. I'd like to do portraits of my cycling friends and their bicycles and other animals. LOL

(149,831 posts)I had to persevere to get the wave! I was determined.
Glad you enjoyed!

(5,403 posts)The lighthouse is stately, the wave majestic, but I love the little birds the best. They seem jaunty and dignified all at once.
Thank you for sharing; I so love your pictures (and all of your rich contributions to DU)!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,831 posts)That is very sweet of you. I love being here and being able to contribute in some way.
Taking photos is one way to get me out of the house!

(149,831 posts)It was a beautiful day and I wanted to be out in it. It's nearly impossible to take a lousy photo on such a day.
I appreciate your kindness.

(19,459 posts)One of the good things the recent rains have done is to clear the air of haze.
We intended to head over to Stinson Beach today, but we got sidetracked.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,831 posts)But yes, the air is greatly improved and that makes all the rain worth it.
There were quite a few people in this park, taking in the sun, watching for whales and just generally soaking up the beauty.
Hope you'll get to Stinson Beach one of these times!

(14,901 posts)But...I'm wondering what all that "blue" is. Hahahahahahah! Actually the sun was out yesterday, so we did have a bit of blue sky!
Spring can not come soon enough.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,831 posts)We are slowly easing toward spring.......some days it feels like it's here........other rainy days, not so much.
It was wonderful to see all that blue sky, and the sparkling ocean waves!
