Then again I'm a theater geek from way back, so it's my kind of stuff. I think they hit a good balance between a scripted series and utilizing the high-pressure audition elements that make people watch reality TV competitions like American Idol and The Voice. The personal stories seem interesting. And of course there's Jack Davenport, whom I would watch if he were sitting in a folding chair reading a phone book from 1979...

without falling back to the trite or the cliche. I'm a huge fan of good writing. I thought Six Feet Under was wonderfully written -- The Sopranos too.
