$1 million grant will help deserving UMass Dartmouth students pay the bills
DARTMOUTH A 23-year tradition continues this year as the UMass Dartmouth Foundation is the recipient of $1 million from the Harold G. Lash Revocable Trust.
The late Harold and Virginia Lash were Westport residents with a wish to help deserving students with the lift they need to broaden their college experience, and graduate into a successful career.
In the statement announcing the gift, Vice Chancellor for Advancement Joseph Medina said, it will provide deserving students with a remarkable opportunity to earn a higher education in their chosen field, and then use that education to make their own contribution to the community and society.
I want to thank the Lash family for its long-standing commitment to UMass Dartmouth and to the idea that education is empowering.
