Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II took the oath of office for their second terms on Sunday. It’s the first time Democrats have held a trifecta of power in Michigan in nearly 40 years, given its wins in the state House and Senate. “For the next four years, our task is clear: focus on the fundamentals, work together, and get things done,” Whitmer said.
