Wow! The fireworks were something last night on the east side of Detroit!

I'm sure tonight is going to be out of control. And there's some guy in our neighborhood who explodes what sounds like a stick of dynamite about once every half hour or so. For bless America! I feel sorry for dog owners. It even affects our cat. But she doesn't get too freaked out.

Just a few, gradually increasing daily.

Tonight will not be fun at all. On top of that, fireworks are illegal in the city except the large shows with permits. Does that stop anyone? Of course not. And it is bone dry here

We will have a number of sponsored displays around the county: near downtown on the river, at Concerts in the Garden, Ranger Stadium if they are playing at home. These will all have huge crowds.

Some of the towns and large neighborhoods which are on lakes will have displays. We have a number of decent sized lakes here. If you can find a high spot, you can see almost all of them.

freaked out, but they are slowly getting used to them/the fireworks. And the fireworks are illegal in the city, but somehow, they flood the city w/ the fireworks anyway. And the police say that they're going to crack down on the fireworks but the task before them is daunting.

All I'll say is that be safe, be careful, and remember, there are many more years to come, and enjoy life to its fullest. Don't screw around w/ a firework and hurt yourself or others.

I also have to hose down the garage roof too, to ensure that any falling fireworks debris doesn't land on my garage and catch it on fire.
