Im still deciding. Im thinking Ill probably put Nekima Levy-Pounds as first choice but am still uncertain. Id be interested in hearing what members here think.

(115,987 posts)I'm skeptical of Jacob Frey because the Strib, owned by GOP plutocrat Glen Taylor, endorsed him. Dehn looks OK. I don't think Hodges handled the police controversies very well so she's probably not my first choice. I've seen a lot of Hoch lawn signs in my neighborhood, so he seems to be at least well-funded (a good sign or not?). I haven't made up my mind yet.

(53,135 posts)He buckled under to Our Revolutions demand that the Mayor never oppose any measure they put forward regardless of what it is. That makes hm unfit IMO. No Mayor should make such a pledge to any group or individual. Dehn is by far the most popular in my neighborhood, if yard signs are an indication, but not with me. If not for that capitulation, I probably would have included him somewhere between 1-3.
I Agree on Hodges. Hoch seems on the conservative side to me. I actually like a good bit of what Frey says (minus increasing the police force and the absurdity of our knowing our local cop), but others have expressed similar concerns to me that you have.

(44,270 posts)Republicans boxed themselves in by signing "loyalty oaths" to Norquist. You are supposed to be loyal to your constituents, not to 501c's/PACs and political operatives.

(53,135 posts)They later rescinded the demand, but Dehn capitulated. He was the only candidate to do so.
Interestingly, it was Our Revolution national, not Our Revolution MN.
We have ranked choice voting, so we choose three candidates in order of preference.

(44,270 posts)local chapters seem less doctrinaire than national.
Thanks for the explanation of ranked choice voting.

(840 posts)1 Levy-Pounds
2 Dehn
3 Hodges
To me both Frey and Hoch are too much downtown business

(840 posts)not much to say there. I'm totally about social justice and reining in the cops.

I'm thinking:
1 Levy-Pounds
2 Dehn
3 Flowers
