Trump's vow to send special prosecutor after Clinton is 'unacceptable,' former Sen. Bob Kerrey says
WASHINGTON Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump went too far Sunday night by vowing to have a special prosecutor go after Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Thats the assessment of former U.S. Sen. Bob Kerrey, D-Neb., who said everyone needs to denounce such statements, regardless of ideological or partisan leanings.
Republicans, Democrats and independents need to say Look, Mr. Trump, youve crossed a lot of lines, but we cannot let you cross that line,? Kerrey said. That has to become an unacceptable thing for any office-seeker at the federal level to say.
Trump said during the debate that if he wins he will have his attorney general appoint a special prosecutor to look into Clintons situation.
