Contractor suddenly stops work on I-10 expansion in West El Paso

Construction of the $154-million Interstate 10 expansion in the West Side came to a screeching, unexpected and abrupt stop Friday after the contractor voluntarily pulled out of the project, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Transportation said.

It's unknown when construction will resume.

&quot Grupo) Tradeco, the contractor for the I-10 expansion in El Paso, has voluntarily defaulted," said Nick Wade, a spokesman for TxDOT in Austin.

"TxDOT remains committed to this project and the increased safety, mobility and connectivity it will bring to drivers in El Paso. We are in the process of determining how we can proceed with completing the work in the quickest way that assures the best quality results," he added.

it's odd that they chose a shady Mexican construction outfit to do their roadwork rather than putting Americans to work to match their advertizing slogans.

Whether that means cutting money to social services, or giving unlimited money to the Pentagon, all they care about is the money. I'd guess, in this case, that the Mexican contractor offered the lowest bid on the project, and all they cared about was it being the lowest bid.

That is like Jeb using the E I Bank (Export Import Bank) to funnel money from Americans to Right Winger in Liberia and back to himself to the tune of about $600,000.00. Even though Cornyn and Cruz just joined the Senate in voting to close the E I Bank, what Jeb did, will not be hidden. Wonder what kinds of loans and investment returns for Conservative, are needing to be stopped as the election time nears?
