New Irving ISD trustee admits pleading guilty to forgery in 2004 case
Although he told voters he had no criminal record, Irving ISDs new school board member once pleaded guilty to forgery.
Dinesh Mali, who won the District 4 seat in May, was led out of a California family court in handcuffs a decade ago accused of signing his wifes name on a paper dismissing their divorce.
Charged with felony forgery, Mali pleaded down to a misdemeanor and served three years probation.
After learning of Malis past from The Dallas Morning News last week, district officials said it wont prevent him from serving as a trustee. But some wished hed disclosed his record himself.
