Parkland Hospital files suit against four construction companies alleging “an unfinished mess”

DALLAS -- Parkland Memorial Hospital has filed suit against four construction companies, seeking more than $1 million in damages for allegedly faulty work on its new central utility plant.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Dallas County District Court, accused the four companies of leading Parkland officials to believe the plant had been completed “under budget and ahead of schedule.”

Instead, the hospital found that some of the equipment did not work and that “portions of the construction and workmanship had not been completed to the standards expected by Parkland and required by the construction contracts,” the lawsuit stated.

The four companies, all with offices in Dallas, include TD Industries, John R. Neal & Associates, CCRD Partners and JE Dunn Construction Co.
