Anybody remember Slocum?

I wonder how the descendants of the hundred or so Black people massacred in Slocum feel about this latest shooting being called the worst in Texas history.

but I'm a bit of a Texas history buff. I suspect that most Texans have not heard about the Slocum massacre though.
