STAUNTON, Va. (WVIR) -

Nearly 200 protesters gathered outside the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center (SVJC) Sunday. They spoke out against disturbing the allegations that surfaced last week about the center abusing detained immigrant children.

The founder of Staunton Augusta Waynesboro Citizen Action Network (SAW CAN), Jennifer Kitchen said, “The allegations in this lawsuit are horrendous.”

The suit claims the migrant children were stripped of their clothes and strapped to chairs with bags placed over their heads.

“All we're asking is for an investigation, and that that investigation be released to the public so we all know what’s been going on,” Lewis said,
