Inslee declares State of Emergency due to fire danger

Level 3 evacuations have spread to include the Teanaway Meadows area in Cle Elum and Lake Cle Elum as the threat of wildfires continues to loom in Washington.

Governor Jay Inslee declared a state-wide State of Emergency Saturday night due to concerns about the growing fire danger.

Inslee said the declaration will help make sure the state has all the resources necessary as the state heads into continuing hot and dry conditions.

afternoon meeting. Will I run into any problems on the road to Wenatchee? Hearing about the weather in Washington is making me nervous - with respect to forest fires. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hwy 2 Stevens mountains pretty takes you through the town of Leavenworth (tourist town Bavarian theme) depending on your time just before Leavenworth is a small shop on the left called The Alps they make their own candies such as taffy and chocolates and also sauces like hot sauce horseradish and more the sauces most allow you to sample them.
Then if time allows after your meeting head north to go up hwy 153 up the Methow they had a devastating fire a few years ago so you see the burn to the road but it's coming back and still beautiful go on through to the town of Winthrop ( another tourist town this one is western themed)
Head over hwy 20 North cross state hwy
For more beautiful mountains trees rivers lake watch the whole trip for wildlife.
Making This loop is a long trip but worth it if you have time
But so many fires in the area makes it smokey unfortunately

closed, or letting vehicles thru with a guide car, for quite a few weeks. I live right by the pass, and the closure is major, there are plenty of businesses on the HWY 410 corridor that depend on the tourist trade, and this might be the final blow for them. This morning, media is reporting the fire has jumped the pass, and is now on the west side (towards the ski resorts). My friends are saying ash is falling in Redmond, and Puyallup
