Related: About this forumWI DNR meetings tonight. In your county.
So has the DNR been told to avoid discussing climate change? If so then we are losing one more avenue to influence our collective destiny, let alone that of the rest of earth's living systems that expect us to not drive them into oblivion.
Tonight is the night for the annual(?) public input meetings for the DNR to at least sit and listen to public input.
Here's the info and locations. See if you can make it.

(7,286 posts)people can yak all they want it wont matter. The NRB knows they are worthless under walkers regime. They have other hearings (CDAC?) hardly anyone shows up.
The "Sportsmen for Walker" Idjits have no idea how screwed they will be. They just blindly trust Walker

(5,075 posts)I went to the Ozaukee meeting.
There were resolutions for:
repealing Act 1 that changes the power of the DNR secretary.
to strengthen frac sand mining regulation.
to repeal Walker's Gogebic gifts.
and to regulate the tar sand pipeline through Wisconsin better.
It was worth the hour.

(7,286 posts)3 county reports....sounds like a fair turnout ( I think Milw, Cty, Jackson Cty and Walworth Cty)....
ETA: I think the results of the elections and questionnaire will be posted online at the DNR website

(5,075 posts)One man stood up during a proposal about the tar sands pipeline that runs through the western part of the state. He said he has worked in the petroleum industry for thirty years as a commercial videographer and travels all over. He said up in the oil fields they call the tar sands oil "Chocolate Death". Anywhere they mine it the area is destroyed forever, he named two specific areas to check out - one was Winnemucca Nevada. The water is so bad they have to truck in water to shower in. He called the Great Lakes and surrounds the OPEC of Water and said that if a pipeline breaks it is worse here than in other places because of the bedrock and the water flow.
