New Progressive radio stations in Central WI.

Was unaware of this launch back in July/August. Since finding 97.5 FM Wisconsin Rapids recently I have been listening while driving. Is 92.7 FM WTTN Madison the same station which changed format (away from progressive?) again broadcasting progressively? Are there others AM-FM stations that you are aware of in WI?

On August 1st, WXCO 1230 AM/98.9 FM, which will be called “Bull Falls Radio,” will be launched in Wausau. Also, the Stevens Point/Wisconsin Rapids station, WFRH 1320 AM/97.5 FM, otherwise known as “Locally Grown Radio,” will also be under the same new ownership. These stations are an outcropping of a new progressive radio conglomerate called Civic Media which sprang from Wisconsin’s first progressive talk radio station in Madison, 92.7 FM.

They also have a good idea in carrying some sports programming, which is a good way to expose people to progressive radio. That is is how Republicans did it in WI, stations like AM 620 in Milwaukee carried all the major sports teams in state (Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers) and then carried Republican talk radio.
