Related: About this forumNeed advice regarding upcoming ballot
My county has a referendum on the upcoming ballot and I haven't a clue what it means.
"Lincoln County Election Officials Advisory Referendum
Should the State of Wisconsin prohibit election officials from soliciting or using private funds, technology, or services from special interest groups, people, or other private entities for the purpose of administering elections and referendums?
YES
NO"
No idea what this even means - should I vote yes or no?
Thanks!

(6,673 posts)Political-speak can get so doggone jumbled I often can't tell up from down.
The article was a bit deep for me too, but your advice to 'Vote No' came in loud and clear.
Thanks again!

(18,964 posts)The Tea Party got this on the agenda for Wood County also...
The premise is that Zuckermann "bought" Wisconsin for Biden by making grants available to counties to pay for the cost of drop boxes, election workers salaries, etc., etc.
The version brought to Wood County talked about "Zuckerbucks"
Vote no...the resolution would prohibit local workers from applying for grants from non-profits to supplement the budgets without raising taxes.

(6,673 posts)I live in a city that overlaps two counties. The county to the north of us changed brands of voting tabulators which made obsolete three voting machines in one city precinct. Our city clerk purchased three new voting machines of the same brand as the county in order to keep the counting accurate and timely...
The clerk applied for and received a grant from Zuckermann's foundation to purchase those machines. City didn't have to pay out of our general fund.
That's how we became aware of this.
