What's the take on WhatsApp?

Since it has 1 billion users, my just trying it shows where I am in the uptake.

So, I'm using it on android and laptop (whatsappweb). I figured out how to Scan the laptop (barcode?) icon with the phone to activate on the laptop.

If I attach a pic and Send, if I delete my Sent copy does the recipient's copy remain over there or does the pic get deleted over there?

A few months ago (before I even tried it) I heard something, maybe about a data flaw/breach(?) with it. Is it O.K.?

Anything else about it? TIA
