Elizabeth Warren won't rule out the possibility of becoming likely Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's running mate, telling Mic in an interview on Tuesday that her focus, for now, remains on serving as the senior senator from Massachusetts.
"Right now, I just want to be clear. I love my job. I'm here in the United States Senate doing exactly what the people of Massachusetts sent me here to do. I'm in the thick of the fights to try to level the playing field, to try to un-rig this system and that's what really matters to me. That's where I'm headed," the progressive favorite said in a sit-down with Mic's Zeeshan Aleem.
Asked whether she'd foreclose the possibility of joining Clinton's ticket, Warren was hardly Shermanesque in her response.
"You know, this is something we've got to get all of our nominations settled on the Democratic side," Warren said. "For me, I'm going to keep doing my job every single day and I'm not thinking about another job."

(15,951 posts)but, while it wouldn't bother me, I have to wonder if nominating two women would be too much for the American people--especially white men--to handle. But on the other hand for years and years we have nominated nothing but two white men. I think maybe it is time for a change.

(6,852 posts)After this election the Dems might take back the Senate.
I am going to turn around three times and spit.
She will be more Senior if the Democratic caucus grows since a freshman will be named to the panel.
She might get to chair a subcommittee.
She knows all this of course and I am sure she is analyzing this better than any of us.
That being said I like the idea.

(1,359 posts)Sorry, but I think Warren can go pound sand. She wants to role in the Clinton administration despite doing nothing to help get it elected so far. In fact, it's been her subtle not-quite-endorsements of Sanders that have put extra pressure on Clinton. I know an opportunist when I see one, and she's checking all of the boxes.
I'd still respect Warren if I hadn't watched her be a coward over and over due to her fear of Bernie's Bros.

It just seems appropriate to start that up again!
