Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumIt's down to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands now!! Sorry Jersey shore and Cali...
Hillary needs 74 delegates now that SDs continue to commit. Four more today.
Needed to win nomination: 2,383
Hillary Clinton: 2,309 (includes 540 super delegates)
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/graphics/2016-delegate-tracker/
Puerto Rico has 67 and the Virgin Islands have 12. Their primaries are June 4 and 5.
Hillary could be the winner before NJ or California even start!!

(4,791 posts)so right now, only 72 dels are available there...(Scroll down to them on bloomberg)
but there are 132 supers still open altogether, so you never know!

(3,284 posts)to Clinton - how odd! What could possibly have made her change her mind?

Do you think Hil might get a few of these?

(92,552 posts)don't think they will endorse until all the primaries are over, and most won't do it until a nominee has been officially determined

(9,072 posts)At this point, it's time to put Bernie "to heel". He's causing more trouble with this Trump debate (even though it's getting news off of the emails). I noticed he's not attacking Hillary as much. Maybe someone in the DNC got to him.
If the SDs keep piling on, it will be a great June for Hillary.
yeah, that's a tough one...

(25,525 posts)I think if they wait until after June 7th when the media declares a winner, it would better tone down all of the SD nonsense (not with the most fervent, of course, but with everyone else). If enough switch to swing it before then, we'll never hear the end of it.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)it was going. She still has herself and Bill, it just may be it happens before PR and VI. Where ever and when ever I will be happy but I will also be happy to get the delegates from the other primaries. She needs about 248 pledged delegates to the half of them, I would like to see MORE MORE MORE.
Sancho
(9,072 posts)I see her winning on June 7 anyway according to 538 projections for CA and NJ. It would be really nice to see about 50 SDs put the primary out of sight this weekend.

(20,450 posts)I don't want anyone to be able to say that she needs the superdelegates to win.
libegal
(2 posts)She a bit over 600 down without superdelegates, so no - the probability of that happening is not likely. Super delegates technically do not count until the convention - so although some news networks may call for her on the 7th this will almost certainly be a contested convention unless there is some sort of wild card--Hillary's indicted, Sanders decides to run as an independent etc.
Sancho
(9,072 posts)The process is really set up to include pledged and super delegates, not anything else.
Technically super delegates do not count until convention - that's where their vote is locked in. As i've said, the various news organizations might call it for her because they are factoring in the super delegates but since they have until the convention to change their mind technically no one can be officially the nominee.
FarPoint
(12,487 posts)I expect no less than 100% for the list above to vote Hillary.
Sancho
(9,072 posts)If you only count pledged delegates, you reduce the "total" to get to one half...but it's irrelevant. The system includes super delegates.
With the current Hillary lead, committed super delegates will vote the way they commit, just like pledged delegates are "pledged", unless there is some really crazy event before the convention. A recount in KY could change the pledged delegates too.
If Bernie conceded, his super delegates might switch publicly to Hillary. There's no realistic reason Hillary isn't the "presumptive" nominee whenever she has a combination of pledged and committed delegates that total more than half.
Actually, if you count those who are politically correct SDs (like Obama), she is pretty close or over the number now.
