Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI am no longer reading threads on Sanders. (In the HRC group either) The primary is done.
For those aware of the facts, the general is on now. Hillary knows it. Even the one who finished second knows it and behind the scenes has admitted it. Jane accidentally admitted it a few days ago saying Bernie will be back in the senate after Cali votes. This whole primary now is one big attempt for BS to get leverage over the DNC platform. That's done already. BS got five seats, Hillary got 6. (Another admission of defeat). The only thing left now is headline bait laid by the 2nd place finisher. It's irrelevant, unhealthy, and I am moving on to the real election.

(4,187 posts)you no longer get to vote on posts alerted in GDP?
If so, that would explain why the jury system has gotten so out of hand.

(2,117 posts)Too many threads about the guy who already lost. Who cares about what he says? It's the winner who carries the torch.

(9,494 posts)in a very real way, Bernie is still trying to beat Hillary but now he's helping The Donald to do it.
So, if Bernie insists upon acting as a de facto surrogate for Trump, then I still see him as the enemy.

(2,117 posts)Remember the PUMAs? Palin convinced those people. Trump will do it even better. I wouldn't waste my time. Come on in to the general. The water's fine : )

Either way, after June 7th, everyone but the diehards will hopefully be looking forward.

(25,517 posts)is mostly a DU (and other lefty site) fabrication. Most of them are already on board and Sanders hasn't even dropped out yet.
Edit: by "most of them", I mean Sanders supporters in general, of course.

(2,117 posts)Case in point, the Hillary group is swamped with threads with Sanders in the title. The people I talk to in the real world don't really give a shit and will vote for the Democratic nominee. They don't care about the latest bait laid by Sanders, they don't even KNOW about it. It's a bit sucky to come to the Hillary group and see the first 15 threads all talking about the latest bait Sanders laid. They are playing right into what Sanders is trying to do- make it about him, not Hillary and Trump which is the real contest now.
TwilightZone
(25,517 posts)look like it's still a race. We know better, of course, but with the constant barrage of crap on DU and elsewhere about the DNC, the SDs, the server nonsense, and so on, our irrational side still wants to counter it, even though it's largely irrelevant. Kind of human nature.
It's also a short-term problem. After the polls close on June 7th, Hillary will be declared the winner by the networks, the news agencies, and pretty much everyone else, and Sanders will become the sideshow act he's basically already been for a month. If he's still dominating the discussion then, then we need to clearly be more pro-active about ignoring him.

(2,117 posts)But I like my sanity. And I've learned over the years that I don't have to let myself get dragged into other people's insanity. I used to get road rage every day on the way to work. Now I focus on the weather, the scenery, or listen to a good democratic morning show. I let others rage away. I decide what my own life will be like. I have my moments, my fits, but I don't allow it to last. Life is a lot better this way.

I think until there's some sense of finality, though - roughly 8pm ET on June 7th - it'll probably remain an issue. That being said, a lot of people are already tuning out and looking ahead.

I know skinner said it will be called when the voting ends, but I don't see how he doesn't call it June 7th. DC won't matter.

(5,070 posts)Bernie is no longer relevant. The media may use him to generate looks and he may be saying more insane and radical things due to his dwindling campaign war chest - but make no mistake. You can stick a fork in him cuz he's done.
He may try to disrupt the convention - but the party is not about to let that happen. They remember 1968. The party controls who gets credentialed and in the doors and they are not about to let this convention turn into a spectacle just to smooth Bernies ruffled feathers.
He has become irrelevant and I'm don't wasting my time reading about him and his followers.
