Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumHold me.
I used to like DU. What the hell happened? The disrespect for Hillary supporters has all but driven me off, and when I do post I just wait for the shitstorm.
The sad thing is, I'd really respond to an actual discussion of the pros and cons of Bernie and Hillary and their potentials and their foibles, but that seems to be a thing of the past. And I hate to only hang with people with whom I agree, because if it's done well disagreement is a great learning tool. How did this place devolve like this?
Had to get that off my chest in leading up to Hillary's campaign kickoff tomorrow, about which I am very excited. I hope I can come be exited here and will be able to resist the rest of this once welcoming and exciting website.

(42,009 posts)I've always been a sensitive sort. It has its drawbacks but it also has its perks. But it makes it hard to have an interesting talk with anyone about politics, which I love doing.

After Hillary has won the primary (my guess is on Super Tuesday next year) things will calm down. That eventuality lets me personally, weather the 'shitstorms.'

(42,009 posts)I think it'll be a watershed moment for me to see if Hillary supporters grave dance or shame Bernie supporters. He's a fine man, with wonderful ideas. I just don't think he'd be our best choice.

After this primary, I will be looking forward, not back to this field of vitriol.

(47,616 posts)And I was told that 2004 was bad, too. By the time I joined the primaries have already started.
In 2008 I was put on many "ignore" lists and was "advised" that DU is not a place for me. For awhile I was thinking of just staying home if Obama was the nominee but was advised by many cool heads that DU is not exactly the image of the country. I think it was.
Sadly, I think that many of us realized how our predictions came to be true: that Obama, for whom all of voted for in the general elections (we did, right?) ended up to be a weak president with good intentions. That his lack of executive experience and lack of knowledge on how Congress and the White House work was the price to be paid.

Obama bashing pisses me off.. as does Hillary bashing.. and Bernie's a good guy, too.
And, you can bet Hillary is going to want President Obama campaigning with her and for her in the General Election.
