Soon, the Battle for Venezuela

Weekend Edition February 21-23, 2014
Open Letter to President of Venezuela

Soon, the Battle for Venezuela

by ANDRE VLTCHEK

They are already sewing your funeral gown, Venezuela. They are now ready to welcome you back to that world of the lobotomized, destroyed nations that are fully submissive to Western political and economic interests – Indonesia, Philippines, Paraguay, Uganda, Kenya, Qatar, Bahrain, and almost the entire Eastern Europe. There are so many places like that – it is impossible to list them all.

They want you back in their deadly embrace; they want you to be corrupt and hopeless, as you were before the “Bolivarian Revolution”.

They want you to be the top oil exporter, but with all those horrific slums hanging, like relentless nightmares, over your cities. They want your elites and your military top brass to speak English, to play golf, to drive luxury cars and to commit treason after treason, as they used to commit treason for decades, before your brave predecessor, President Hugo Chavez, began serving and literally saving the poor, in Venezuela and all over Latin America.

Those who are planning to destroy you, those who belong to the so called ‘opposition’, in their heads, are already portioning you; they are dividing your beautiful body – fighting over which parts should be taken where and by whom. They are arguing which pieces of you should stay at home, and what should be taken abroad – a leg, an arm, and your deep melancholic eyes, the color of the profound pools under the mighty waterfalls of Canaima. They want to sell your jet-black hair, as black as those evenings in the mountains, or like that endless night sky above Ciudad Bolivar.

They want everything, all that is under your skin as well as what is deep inside your body. They want your skin, too, as well as your heart.

became a nightmare? Why is it so difficult to understand that it was not working in Venezuela.
The students were protesting for the right to have food, the right to live without the fear of being killed, the right to express their opinions without fear of prosecution.

from people who actually live in Venezuela, and who lived there BEFORE Chavez. Since you have offered nothing other than what eg, we used to hear from Faux et al, unless you provide some credible sources that support your comment, I will stick with the opinions of those who have experienced both the devastation of what you appear to want a return of, AND the taking back of Venezuela from the Greedy Global Corps who robbed the country of its land and resources by Chavez.

women in the head and face, beating up priests and gradeschool students, tying up people and spraying them with water cannons, arresting and imprisoning people without cause. I hear Ven has the highest inflation rate, highest homicide rate in S America, shortages of food and products, and the most corrupt government in the hemisphere. Friends have told me and the news stories and reality confirms this. WHat's your take?

to foment dissent against the democratically elected government. And since Latin America has a history of such tragic interference from Western Imperialists, I'm not at all surprised to hear it is happening again, especially after they were exposed trying to effect a Coup of Chavez which of course, failed.

But that doesn't answer my question, which seems to be a pattern, fling mud, never provide anything of substance and hope some of it sticks. We are familiar with those tactics.

I heard Venezuela has the highest murder rate, inflation rate, level of corruption, and is unable to provide products and servicers for its people due to horrible economic policies. This is in addition to shooting people in the head and face.

hold our elected officials responsible for those tragic, deadly numbers.

I also heard that some people refuse to read anything that refutes what they want to believe and stick to questionable sources in order not to have their bubbles burst. I know that for a fact as I recall providing Bush loyalists with links which were unquestionable, that there were no Mushroom Clouds heading our way from Iraq, but alas, they attacked, hilariously, the very credible evidence from even their own, reluctantly, party members that in fact, it was all a big lie.

As I said, I never trust Right Wing puppets of Imperial Oligarchs who appear to surface ONLY in countries that have oil or other valuable resources, but fail, for some reason, to show up in countries like eg, one of our, shamefully, ALLIES, UZbekistan where the dictator has perpetrated genocide and torture on his own people. But, well, as the Wikileaks cables revealed, 'yes, he's a bad guy, but he allows us to put our base in his dictatorship'. So you see, anything coming from those puppets means zero to those of us who care about FACTS.

and the right-wing trolls masquerading as "progressives" the material being published by corporate news flows from right-wing sources in Venezuela, as it has always been.

It's more that the anti-student posters are too ignorant to find the incidents and post them. It's not about knowing the truth, it's about scoring internet points while tragedy takes place.

Hint: I posted about two of them already. Waited to post one for confirmation. Not at the computer.

The pro-authoritarian among us can begleeful in the deaths that are happening.
