Things are very unpredictable right now. The repression is brutal but the people on the streets aren't getting tired.
Funny situation, I'm abroad sending information about Venezuela to my family. The govt snipes down latin american tv channels on the internet. NTN24 among others. So with the auto-censorship there, you actually see less of what's happening than if you watch TVs from neighboring countries. For example, last sunday, Capriles gave a long speech explaining the "opposition's demands" for ending the revolt (disarm and dissolve paramilitary groups, free Simonovis and Lopez, etc.) and I could see the whole thing in Paris with ntn24 on line. Former "opposition" channel Globovision didn't air but a 2 minute résumé of the press conference. "Thanks to" a new law voted in 2010 (by enabling law), they can't show any violent images neither. Alteration of "public moral, social peace and institutional stability" by the media became crimes punished with jail time.
