The body of former boxing champion Antonio Cermeño, 45, was found early on Tuesday on the banks of the Caucagua-Higuerote highway, Miranda state, central north Venezuela.
He had been kidnapped on Monday evening in La Urbina, northeast Caracas, with his family.
His relatives managed to escape at a gas station as kidnappers stopped to fill the tank. However, the kidnappers took Cermeño with them and killed him.
