Lynx Mom Wrestling With Her Babies In The Snow Will Warm Your Heart

11/27/2017 05:11 pm ET

“There are no words possible for how beautiful they are.”

By Nina Golgowski

Winter is almost here, and one lynx family couldn’t be more thrilled.

An endearing video captured seven lynx juveniles wrestling with their mother on a snow-dusted porch in a rare encounter that the Alaska homeowner says is the second in recent months.

“I was just spellbound,” Cathy Newton, who shot one of the videos posted to YouTube this month, told the San Francisco Chronicle. “There are no words possible for how beautiful they are.”

The rambunctious bunch, whose species is threatened, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, first paid Newton and her photographer husband, Tim, a visit in September.

I simply love nature/animal videos. Wanted to be a forest ranger (or Indiana Jones) growing up and should have followed that path.

Come to find out that the forestry service focuses more on trees as a crop to harvest than anything else. It's better to work with non-profits and local government to have a real impact on local conservation issues.

Wow seven. They are in no way camera shy are they? It looked like they knew what they were doing to get their picture taken.
