Heat index

High temperatures combined with high humidity defeat the body's cooling mechanism. At a heat index over 125 you start to cook in your own juices, so to speak. At 110 degrees, humidity of 30% is very dangerous. Stay cool. Stay hydrated.

The Heat Index is probably always over 100 degrees. Yep, stay inside in AC.

Those of us in temperate climes tend to forget the impact of humidity
as, although we sometimes see high temperature, it is almost always
in conjunction with low humidity.

(Mind you, I'll probably be getting some first-hand experience of this
next month on a trip to Houston ...)
