(30,109 posts)The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Friday strongly objected to the decision by French telecom company Orange S.A. to eventually end its business relationship with an Israeli company, calling the move a cowardly and completely unjustified caving-in to anti-Israel boycott demands.
Orange took a cowardly decision to cave into demands by the international campaign to boycott Israel, said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. Orange has subsidiaries which operate in disputed territories elsewhere in the world, so this decision is not about the West Bank, but about Israel and the campaign to delegitimize the Jewish state.
In a letter to Gerard Araud, the French Ambassador in Washington, D.C., the ADL urged the French government, a significant shareholder of Orange S.A. with representation on the companys board of directors, to make clear that complying with demands to boycott Israel are illegal under French law and contrary to the countrys national interests and moral values.
Speaking in Cairo, Orange CEO Stephane Richard reportedly said the telecom company wants to be one of the trustful partners of all Arab countries and does not believe the deal a brand licensing agreement with an Israeli company, Partner - was worth the time that we spend to explain this, to try to find a solution and the consequences that we have to manage here but also in France.

(30,109 posts)I know that's terrible to many folks who don't believe Israel's citizens have any right to be defended by fascist oppressors (Hamas, Islamic Jihad) intending to massacre the Jews.
The same fascist oppressive Gaza leadership that can do no wrong when they abuse women, children, and gays.
Apparently it's too Zionist to criticize the Gaza leadership because their oppressive & brutal rule is okay so long as Israel cannot be blamed.

(30,099 posts)Won't matter what lipstick you try and advertise it as, and lets remember the
rulers of SA do not give a damn about their own peoples human rights nor
self determination..and they're in a weak position now and have been for
awhile. They have much on their plate and have no fucking clue how to
clean up their own mess. They're not worried about the Palestinians.

Will Saudi Arabia join Israel on the list of "Middle Eastern democracies"?

You'd have to stop bitching about Zionist oppression, occupation, and settlements?
shira
(30,109 posts)...all would leave Palestinians with a viable state.
You say you're against the occupation and settlements, but all I see is your rejection of the Palestinians having their own state.
Has it been worth it for the Palestinians to have rejected the Clinton Initiatives of 2000? I say they should have accepted, there'd be peace, and 2 states, no occupation or settlements.
How about yourself? Pro- or anti- occupation regarding the Clinton plan?
Jefferson23
(30,099 posts)changed about land swaps, that happened within the last two years..approximately.
Major settlement blocs to Israel will leave them without a viable state.
Never mind all the other means Israel will use to keep them demilitarized, because, hey..they're
not to be trusted but Israel can be.
shira
(30,109 posts)You know full well Israel will never agree to abandon every last settlement & withdraw to exact '67 lines.
That's a very extreme position.
