Norway Mass Murder Suspect Believed to Be Secretly Gay, Depressed Before Massacre

By Stoyan Zaimov , Christian Post Reporter

May 30, 2012|12:42 pm

Confessed Norway mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik may have been struggling with homosexuality in the period leading up to him allegedly killing 77 people in 2011, former friends of his have testified at a hearing.

Breivik's trial, which seeks to determine whether the alleged mass murderer was sane or not while carrying out the attacks, produced a surprising revelation on Tuesday when four of his former friends testified that he had also been suffering from depression, moved back in with his mother and cut down social contact greatly. Some of them had only kept occasional contact with their friend in the months leading up to the killings, The Associated Press shared.

One former friend even said that Breivik, 33, had shown "feminine behavior and used makeup," was unsuccessful in relationships with women, and may have been gay. "I believed he was in a deep depression or that he was a homosexual who did not want to come out in public about it," the friend, who was not identified, shared.

>>>Breivik has confessed to his actions, but denies criminal intent, saying that as a Christian defender of Norway, he wanted to drive out Muslims and battle acceptance of Muslims that he believes are taking over his country.>>>>

We're also responsible for Hitler, the Kennedy assassination, Rush Limbaugh, the heartbreak of psoriasis, the McCarthy era, the Lisbon earthquake, the fact that the Cubs haven't won the World Series, Columbine, and world hunger .

...Breivik may have been gay? According to a former friend?

Meanwhile, we know he was definitely a Christian. And yet the Christian Post is blaming this on us?

Quelle surprise!

Sheez. People are so stupid.

But I K&R for the sheer stupidity of those in society and the media who go to great lengths to guilt-by-association society's traditional outcasts and scapegoats.

I'm so tired of the same freaky assertions, over and over again.

Mr. Breivik lives in one of the most progressive nations on earth.

Same-sex physical activity has been legal in Norway since 1972.

Norway was the first country in the world to pass anti-discrimination protections for gays and lesbians in 1981.

Norway permits adoption by gay couples.

Norway provides full marriage equality from 01 January 2009 improving on civil union status that was legal since 1993.

So, if this is true, this is because of Mr. Breivik's contrived persecution as a Christian and his hatred of Muslims. While Scandinavia is generally fairly tolerant of free speech, there is no "religious freedom" exception to speech that in this country would be allowed.

If this man is indeed gay I am sorry he could not find a way to accept himself and find a fulfilling life. Perhaps his own self-hatred manifested itself in this pre-occupation with Muslims. We will likely never know.

A culture where people think they must HIDE the fact that they are gay. I thought Northern Europe was more progressive than that.

Otherwise there would be millions of mass murderers out there right now!

This is a non-story, if true, and mudslinging speculation if not.

NOT to say that that is what caused what he did, my gaydar did go off with him even though I knew nothing about him. And, my gaydar has usually been very good over my lifetime when it comes to men. Meh, not so good with women. But it also brings to mind that I felt the same way with Timothy MacVeigh, the Catholic altar boy who had a, shall we say, strained relationship with his step-father. Now, maybe I'm reading something into the step-father relationship since mine abused me and it seems to be a common happening with others. And, Timmy was very much into being with men and had no relationships that I heard of, ever, with females. Again, I repeat, I'm NOT saying that that is what caused what he did, and is totally not a part of that. Just, that it is possible.
