A poll by US sports broadcaster ESPN claims 86% of NFL players surveyed would accept having an openly gay teammate and that 76% would be comfortable showering around them.
The poll was conducted following NFL hopeful Michael Sams decision to come out as gay this month.
ESPN surveyed 51 players (nearly the equivalent of an NFL roster) and asked four true-false questions.
The results showed 44 players (86%) indicated that a teammates sexual orientation did not matter to them, and 39 (76%) indicated they would be comfortable showering around a gay teammate.

(14,337 posts)Yes, there were lesbian players and they all showered together, and roomed together on the road. They all knew who was gay and who wasn't, and RESPECTED their teammates preferences. Why should this be any different in the PROS?

I guess he must sneak in when there are no women using their assigned lav. This son of hers, my nephew, is very into keeping himself in shape--he's trying to become a model--so, though he's not one of those guys with huge bulging muscles, he's no weakling.
I told her I thought it was downright ridiculous that he felt he had to use the ladies' bathroom, but she insists it's the only way he can be safe. Maybe I'm being naive, but it seems like cartoonish homophobia to me.
