Federal court says its legal for ''Crisis Pregnancy Centers'' to deceive women

Court Allows Crisis Pregnancy Centers To Decieve Women | Crisis Pregnancy Centers often masquerade as abortion consultation facilities — they lure in women who are pregnant and terrified, and then often try to convince them not to get the procedure. Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled that is a totally acceptable practice. The city of Baltimore passed a law in 2009 to require such centers to post disclosures of their positions on abortion and contraception. Then, a lower court put a hold on enforcement of that law. Today, the appeals court agreed with the lower court by a vote of 2-1. It is possible this decision could be reversed by a larger panel of the same court, however. The overwhelming majority of judges on the Fourth Circuit are Democratic appointees, but the panel that decided this case included two Republicans.

deceptively marketed as "reproductive health" centers.

EDIT: I guess it's no different than telling doctors they can lie to women about their pregnancy to keep them from aborting if the fetus isn't viable or the baby won't live long after birth due to a severe deformity or whatever - or if the mother's life might be in danger by continuing/completing the pregnancy. In some situation recently in this ongoing war on women, this was also ruled legal.

who wrote this:

U.S. Circuit Judge Robert King, who dissented, called the majority's decision "indefensible" and said "these proceedings have thus followed a course more fitting a kangaroo court than a court of the United States," given extensive evidence of their deception.

This makes me so angry. I remember taking a friend to a “crisis” center when she thought that she was pregnant (she was) and we were taken completely off guard when they presented us with these religious pamphlets on why abortion is a sin. It left a completely bad taste in my mouth as a young woman. She ended up keeping the baby but it wasn’t because of what they said to her. Once she realized that they were not going to discuss her true options with her we left and found Planned Parenthood in the next town over.
