(she lived in Incline Village), so I have been familiar with this for many years. I always remember the story arc in "The Golden Girls", and Dorothy's struggle to find a doctor who would take her seriously.

Answered questions online at the CFIDS Foundation several years later. Had 19 of 22 symptoms. Doc claimed thinking having chronic fatigue was academic. Many doctors would diagnose that "it's all in your head" and then prescribe anti-depressants. I refused, so I suffered. Now I believe it's a validly recognized disorder that disability would pay for. Of course too late for me. All these years.

since Covid. I’ve had 5 shots altogether. I here it’s spreading hear it’s again in Ohio.
I think the stress of Covid alone has left many people so burned out from it all.

it left me with conditions I had not previously. My eyes are more screwed up, gave me spells of AFib, my gait is off some.

It was hell warmed over and stigma caused by the unsympathetic non-acceptance of the malady made it worse.

I was lucky enough to attend a lecture by and meet the great (unfortunately now deceased) Dr. Paul Cheney from Charlotte, NC in the late '80's. He was one of the pioneer in getting the disease accepted by the CDC.

I started feeling crappy in the early 70's. Husband's family doc who we were using listened to my symptoms and said, "Maybe you had that yuppie flu?" The medical realm wasn't very well versed about any of this back then. I would get a bug or worse, strep. Acute symptoms would pass soon enough, but I'd be wore out and feel like crap for months after. Not bouncing back fully ever.

One poor soul I read about along the way described feeling like they were stuck/glued onto or embedded in their mattress and couldn't free themselves. It can be that bad, yes.
