Ok I got scared today

My adhd got me stuck in hyperfocus again.
In hyperfocus everything disappears as you intensely focus on that you are doing.

Well I started to feel woozy, shaky my vision got messed up which forced me to stop. It made me able to break the focus my inhibiting my ability to keep doing what I was doing the body forced me to pay attention. When I became aware of my body I felt so messed up. I figured I'd take my blood sugar first. It was 34.
I got sugar into my body quick. But what if hyper focus got to the point of passing out and I could not feel my body again?
I could die.

Having diabeties and adhd is a dangerous combination to have. Especially when living alone.I hope I never get that hyper focussed again.

But I have no guarantees it won't happen again. That is what scares me.

Is there more information about adhd and diabeties out there?

Not sure if you have Type 1 or Type 2, but here is an interesting article asserting a link between the 2:

And another:

Try not to dissociate when you're hyperfocused, if possible?

I don't mean to frighten you, but years ago, my mom found my dad unconscious on the floor. Docs said glucose was at 30.

He was in his mid-80's with myriad health problems, including diabetes & resultant kidney disease.

Please be careful?

monitor like the Dexcom, or Freestyle Libre that has an optional alarms for if your blood sugar gets too high or too low? With your adhd, it seems you could really benefit from one of those.

Take Care.

Medical assistance does not cover dexcom for type 2. As if we should be punished for having type 2.

Im just cynical.
