How do you all deal with people who are convinced we're doomed?

I'm talking about the right wingers. Their stuff - especially their far right religious stuff - pretty much rolls off my back these days.

I'm talking about people on the liberal side of things who love to run around telling everyone that we're (nation, species, etc) are doomed and their followers. I try walking away, even ignoring people, leaving Facebook groups, or dumping entire threads but it still eats at me, a lot. You try to talk to these people it's always "Oh you're just a stupid naive person in denial" etc etc...

People like the ones you're describing--I just tune them out. I know that I'm right and that's that.

Normally, my self-esteem is pretty sturdy. Not always, of course, and then I just avoid those discussions.

Do your research and be content with that. Maybe that would help?

Sorry, I can't do that. I've never really been able to figure out how to do so either.

Even our planet will eventually die, die as in be completely gone since it will be swallowed by our Sun as it proceeds through its own life cycle and expands into a red giant that will engulf the orbit of our planet.

Even our Sun will eventually die although its life cycle is far longer than the current age of the universe.

I prefer to think of it that we will eventually all be as one.

trash them, put them on ignore, and dont be afraid to just unfriend them.
you can control your anxiety, but you can control who you read and talk to.
