Lots of good deals on zucchini here that are too good to pass up. Soup is a good way to use up a bunch of it. I still have several nice small ones to use, along with an eggplant and some green beans. Not sure what I will do with them yet.

Hey, yellerpup, have a spider roll for me! I'll be with you in spirit, 'cuz I love sushi.

We made salad nicoise. We used Genova tuna, capers, a mix of colored potatoes (blue, rust, white), hardboiled eggs from a local source and which were very fresh, a huge head of red lettuce that looked so fresh I nearly cried, and tomatoes. Might be some other ingredients which I am not remembering.

The croutons are made, too: my spouse put garlic in hot olive oil and then he added the bread, which was made from some several-day-old Judy bread. He browned the croutons and then we sprinkled herbs over them. AlsoSalt and pepper, lots. At some point he put in some fish sauce we had made, but I can't remember when that was. Whenever, it produced the most divine croutons from which I can hardly stay away.

boiled potatoes, hard boiled eggs, steamed green beans, tomatoes and Swiss cheese. I had a nice bake-it-at-home baguette to accompany the salad. We were in Pgh. for a second day in a row, this time visiting my husband's Uncle who is in a nursing home .

made burritos and nachos. Not bad for kids. They did a great job of browning the meat, chopping the veggies and heating the refried beans, but (because they are kids) they weren't so good on the clean up. I did compliment her for putting the dirty dishes in the sink instead of leaving them on the countertops.
