(106,886 posts)Mixing the ground beef with a little BBQ sauce, toasting the sourdough as garlic toast. Small salad but loaded - lettuce, arugula, cherry tomatoes, sweet onions, bell pepper, cucumber, yellow squash. Corn on the cob with pepperoncini.

(11,370 posts)We like squid, but have never seen it in steak form before, so this is an experiment.

(106,886 posts)The tentacles are a deep fried staple with fries and onions rings in New England - a different kettle of...squid, as they say.

(2,016 posts)But I'm thinking of dropping it in the food processor to make ham salad for sandwiches. Cold food sounds pretty good right now. Also, a 3-bean salad.

Picked 2.5 quarts of berries today, so I'm guessing I'm starting to hit the peak for the season.
Got my confirmation on the three blueberry bushes I ordered, so I'm hoping they'll ship sooner than the saffron crocus bulbs. (Waiting til August for those.)
Some of the potatoes are actually in bloom, which pleasant looking little pale purple flowers with bright yellow stamen.

(146,218 posts)We did an incredible food tour of Buford Hwy. in Atlanta yesterday. There are hundreds of small ethnic restaurants on a 2 mile stretch of this road.
We ate Vietnamese, Korean, Malaysian and Chinese in the course of 3 hours. All fantastic and embarrassingly inexpensive.
We took a cooler and brought home all our leftovers, so an amazing leftover feast was on tap tonight.
This is absolutely one of my favorite dining experiences.

We have almost finished it off. If you ever get out this way, I will take you on a tour.

I love, love, love trying the foods of other cultures! Lucky you (as well you know).
Well, I laid in a Trader Joe stash today on my way home from work because I knew it was going to be a long day. Good thing I did, too:
--tempura shrimp sushi
--root vegetable chips
--2 pkgs ravioli, butternut squash and ricotta lemon
--chicken cilantro wontons
--chocolate almond biscotti
--low-carb whole wheat tortillas
--chocolate truffles
First I had some tempura shrimp sushi. Then I had to take my computer to the Microsoft store for some firmware adjustments. I will mess around with a computer on about any issue, but I draw the line with firmware and especially flashing the BIOS.
That being a 3-hour affair, I was happy I had butternut squash raviolis to fix in just a few minutes when I got back. And cocoa truffles for dessert!

(146,218 posts)I haven't been there since I got back to the US and need to make a trip. I've been going to this amazing place called "Your DeKalb Farmers Market".
It's hard to describe, but wonderful in every way.
