What's for Dinner, Tues., June 16, 2016

I'm making a recipe out of a magazine. I subscribed to about four cooking-focused mags in February. They really do have quick, delicious ideas. This one will be asparagus-zucchini torte. Of course, my torte crust will be made with almonds.

For dessert, some chocolate biscotti from yesterday's trip to TJs along with some iced coffee or tea.

I think I'll also slice a watermelon.

p.s. cbayer, the DeKalb Farmer's Market was amazing! (pic is on yesterday's dinner thread)

Rye rounds, sharp cheese, bell pepper, cucumber, olive oil, cherry tomatoes, hummus, olives, pear, figs. A finger food plate.

(aside) You know what cold drink goes well, imo, with any kind of baked chocolate pastry? Horchata. The rice milk, cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate make a great finish.

That watermelon sounds great, wish I'd planted some this year.

More rain showers today, but I still got something like 3 quarts of berries, up to 3.5 gallons or so total now, and still looks like a lot on the canes yet to ripen.
