(6,133 posts)I do like my beef stews with more veggies though. It makes me think on how to add veggies and potatoes, because they change thickness, or do I follow it exactly and do veggies different and serve it together. I think the latter I will try.

(131,459 posts)was hoping they'd add the carrots back. I do mine with peas, carrots, jar of pearl onions and potatoes, and 'finish' with wine. Thyme's important to mine.

I'm pleased to say I 'invented' it about 30 years ago, did it with my baby girl in my arms! She's 31 now, with 1 toddler and 1 baby of her own, and occasionally asks for it! (I browned the beef after dredging in flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder and thyme.)
