Juicer shopping again....

I am going to replace my neighbors juicer (or see if I can get the motor repaired) and pick up one for myself with part of our tax refund.
I just can't spend the money for a Vita Mix or one of the other high quality ones right now. We have so many things that we need to do to get the house ready to sell, that I cant justify the extra money on a juicer.

Sooo...I've been reading reviews on a metal Suspentown, the Jack La Lane line, and a couple of wide mouth Hamilton Beach juicers....but I wanted to ask if anyone had a recommendation for me. I don't want to spend much over 100. It has to be able to handle carrots, and make enough juice for two people at once without overheating.

Anyone have suggestions?

I don't think Vita Mix makes a juicer, but I'm not sure. They do make blenders. The difference between the two is a juicer is going to separate the juice from the pulp.

I prefer having a blender simply because it's more versatile. A good friend of mine juices ever day and has a dedicated juicer. He went through a couple of cheaper models before he finally bought an Omega masticating juicer. He said the two previous models he had were centrifugal. He burned the motor up in one of them and got rid of the 2nd one because it was too hard to clean. He loves the Omega.

I recently bought a refurbished commercial Blendtec blender and love it. I posted a detailed review of it here...

The price has gone up from $169 to $199, but I still think it's an excellent deal at that price.

I was following your blendtec posts and did think about it... I just cant let go of that much money right now.
The Omegas are about twice what I want to spend, but they are excellent. People really seem to love the masticating juicers...maybe I'll be able to get one someday!

I checked the previous listings and occassionally someone unloads an older 8001 model for around $100 or so. I didn't see any current listings.
