What's for Dinner, Fri., Jan. 12, 2018

Roasted lamb shanks with rutabaga and carrot. They were roasted at a very low temp and are subsequently at that "fall off the bone" stage.

Appetizer is tomato bruschetta, made with more of those cherry tomatoes we bought yesterday.

Tossed green salad using mesclun.

Dessert is chocolate and rustic bread.

Here it was very different: Leftover grilled steak, sliced. Served on "leftover" rice pilaf, one of the packets I have stored in the freezer. With leftover asparagus, leftover broccoli, leftover bok choy, all which I either kept forgetting to add to the next night's dinner, or passed over because didn't go with.

Everything barely warmed except the rice. And my wine.

I love lamb roast and lamb chops. Used to cook it often in CA. None back in KY.

Although I have met someone here that raises sheep...... Just don't think I can look at their little lambs playing, and then cook one. Reminds me of this woman I knew when lived in Cincinnati. This guy asked her if she liked lamb. She said, sure, I like lamb chops. They brought a live lamb and put it in the back seat of her car!
