Zucchini-corn pancakes. The zucchini is actually a gray squash that got a little too large. Also known as Mexican squash. They have a little red pepper for color. Scallions, dill.
Pork loin sandwiches on Brioche with yellow tomato, lettuce, and mayo.
Cinnamon/black decaf tea to drink.
Dessert: milk and cookies.

(32,196 posts)I was beginning to wonder why so many yellow flowers and no cukes.
Also picked a bowl of green beans.
Mr. O wants his favorite cucumbers in sour cream dish tonight. That should go well with our fish.

I baked a pumpkin bread (from a box), so that will be a bite of sweet later on if we want it.

(1,711 posts)a favorite because it uses up so many odds and ends - threw in a couple tomatoes that were getting to the edge, chopped. I made that before I left for work. But what was special tonight was the salad my son made: red and green baby romaine, halved green grapes, bleu cheese (Maytag 'cause we're Iowans), celery, and candied pecans, with a vinaigrette with cider vinegar, olive oil, sour cream, and Dijon mustard. We're big fans of salads that hit all the flavor notes.
